staying organized

At the beginning of 2010 I bought myself a weekly planner so I can write down the work schedule for making dirty laundry products.

I also got the  Craft Inc. Business Planner so I can grow my dirty laundry business.

Well my calendar quickly got filled with other tasks like blog and store contacts, who I'm going to interview, blog post ideas, purchases, etc. It was getting hard to have a visual hierarchy in my handwritten calendar. And then I had seperate information in my Craft Inc. Business Planner. I also had receipts in the file folder I purchased earlier this year. Stuff is EVERYWHERE!

I was going to make a Excel spreadsheet on my home computer. But lots of things happens when I'm on the go and I like to record things right away because I'll forget.

My husband always says to me "there's an app for that." But sometimes old fashioned pencil and paper is the way.

But I found an app Friday night that seems like it's going to work for me. It's called IOrganiZ.

It's a user friendly todo and personal organizer application. It is build to be the ultimate task manager!

Here is is right on my iPhone.

I was able to delete the IOrganiz original icons and add my own.

There are several icons to choose from and 12 colors to make and name all of your categories. And you can have multiple of pages of categories too!

Under my turquoise "virtual craft show" button I have  a listing of shows I've contacted, what I paid for and  the duration.

It's hard to keep track of things when you're waiting to hear back from someone and / or events overlap.

You can see the details of an item here. You can mark the priority and the colors change. And if the item is in progress or done.

There are some other features that I haven't used yet, like the alarm and calendar view function.

It's $4.99 for the unlimited task version.

OMG. LOVE. Might freak me out to have all the little red numbers next to the icons saying "HEY YOU"VE GOT STUFF TO DO!!!" --but maybe that's the point... If I know you, you'll think they are yelling at you too, which I guess will help you get stuff done --- and MAN, you've got a LOT of stuff!! Let me know how you like the app and maybe I'll give it a try.... Little red numbers: BEWARE--you've got Jeanee to reckon with! -e

HA Erin!

I did forget to mention that I don't like those red alert icons on each category. Those numbers are saying how many items there are in each category. It kinda annoys me 'cause it looks like I haven't done those tasks. But when you ho to each task there is a checkmark if it's done or not.

So I've just ignored the red numbers... for now. I know we both have a phobia about the little red guy!
