my favorite?
I never answer the 10 questions of "what's your favorite movie, song, etc.?" because I never have an answer! Does that mean I'm weird and I don't know myself? Or do I like too many things? And I feel like if I put down an answer I'm stuck to that thing being my favorite FOR LIFE!
But... I'm going to let go of my fears and answer the questions. Plus I figured it be a good way for you all to get to know me a little better!

On Monday I saw that Rachel of Smile and Wave posted a list of questions and answers. So I'm going to answer those 1st.
1. When do you feel happiest?
I feel happiest with I'm with my husband Shaun.
Dinner time is our time for ourselves together. We tell stories about our day and laugh. I like the weekends best when we have breakfast at home or out. And when I'm at a stopping point on a Dirty Laundry project and we can go out to dinner and share a bottle of wine or pitcher of margaritas. The best treat for me is when I'm able to go out and see him DJ.
2. How do you take care of yourself?
I'm fortunate enough to get paid to workout! I'm a Zumba fitness instructor. I teach class three times a week. It's my time to see all of my Zumba friends (most are co-workers and Dirty Laundry customers). They give me so much energy when I see that they are excited for me to teach class.
I'm also a vegetarian. Monday I went to the store and bought 3 bags of salad, apples, bananas and some sliced almonds. The young lady bagging my groceries said, "you eat healthy." I was like huh? I don't even think about it because that's what we eat all of the time (minus a cupcake or yummy chips here and there!).
3. Are you internally (by yourself) or externally (by others) motivated?
I like to work alone. If I want help, a brainstorm, or a craft shopping venture I'll ask others. But usually I'm most productive when it's just me.
I am motived by others. I get inspired by the craft and work of others. It motivates me to keep going and be innovative. Sometimes getting out and chatting with other indie biz gals (especially in person) can be an eye opener.
4. What do you do for fun?
Fun? Uh... actually I can't think of when I'm not having fun!
5. What intimidates you?
Oh this is a hard one. Geez... Ok. I got it! A house intimidates me. Shaun and I was just talking about that last night.
Neither of us wants a home. Especially one that you have to fix up. Maintenance like mowing the lawn and fixing the water heater is not in our agenda. When I hear people talk about digging up their yard, a flood in their basement, repaving the driveway or getting new kitchen cabinets I just can't imagine having the time and extra income to do all of that.
However, I would love to have an outdoor space for a small garden and grill. Fresh veggies and tofu on the grill... yum!
6. What is something you're proud of?
Through all of the trials and tribulations in my life I kept going, never lost it. I kept hope alive and a smile on my face.
7. Finish this sentence. I never _____________.
I never get or gotten into a fist fight. (I didn't know what else to put!)
8. Favorite vacation spot.
Las Vegas. Our wedding and honeymoon spot.
9. Today is a (rate from 1 - 10).
Today is a 7. Not much going on at this very moment. Nothing exciting (yet). Just waiting for the weekend to start. Making lists for lots of home and Dirty Laundry projects to do!

On Tuesday Leigh-Ann of Freckled Nest posted questions and answers to her 10 favorite things.
Ok... here goes!
1. Favorite hobby?
Baking and taking photos. Taking photos of what I baked is a good combo.
2. Favorite TV show?
Gosh... what ONE TV show I MUST watch?
I dunno? I watch (listen) to lots of TV. There is nothing in particular I just absolutely HAVE to see. But right now the things I'm watching are (not in any particular order):
• America's Next Top Model
• RuPaul's Drag Race
• The Wendy Willams Show
• The United States of Tara
• GLEE
3. Favorite restaurant food?
Mmmmm....
Our new spot is Soul Vegetarian on the south side of Chicago. I can't even begin to tell you how DELICIOUS it is! I wish we could go there every day. A dinner for two is no more than $28!!!
Our other spot is Chinese Buddha in Atlanta. I call it The Buddha Man because there is a super large Buddha when you walk in.
They have a whole vegetarian menu. I have not idea how they heck they do vegetarian chicken, beef and shrimp. But the vegetarian satay is amazing!
4. Favorite thing to shop for?
This is hard. I'm not a real shopper. I go shopping for things like craft supplies and clothes as I need them. And I only buy things as I need it. For example, I have no black strappy wedge sandals for this summer. Or I can't buy anymore fabric until I cut and use everything I have at least once!
I do go ga-ga over fabric EVERY TIME I see it. So let's say fabric is my favorite thing to shop for!
5. Favorite animal?
Awh man! I'm so not an animal person.
I had a black lab puppy when I was 4/5-years-old. And my dad sent her away because we didn't have enough yard for her. I named her Weezy because Weezy Jefferson was the only black lady I knew outside my family.
I also had a cat in 8th grade. My dad sent her away because she kept peeing all over the carpet.
Maybe my dad scarred me from having pets.
6. Favorite song?
I honestly cannot pick.
Besides getting rid of my pets my dad played music ALL of the time in our house. And I was a serious clarinet player from grade school all the way until 21.
I love all kinds of music (except Motown like the Supremes, blues, blue-grass and go-go -- I'm not a fan). I just can't pick ONE song.
7. Favorite word?
Man! This is hard!
Ok... I pick "MAN!" Because I've been saying that before every story I'm about to tell. So that must be my favorite word? That doesn't sound very interesting :(
8. Recent favorite youtube video?
That three-year-old crying over Justin Bieber.
9. Favorite movie?
Ok. I have three.

I could watch this scene over and over again!

10. Favorite childhood memory?
Going for joy rides with my parents and my little brother.
We lived not even 10 minutes away from Lake Michigan. My dad would drive around with the music on. There were two ways to get to the lake. And I'd try to guess which way he was going go.
The car would go up this hill and you could see the sun in the horizon and then the blue water and the sand. Ah...

Looking at other blogs, Etsy and tweeing is fun.
My job designing greeting cards at Hallmark is fun.
Teaching Zumba is fun.
Making Dirty Laundry products is fun.
Cooking and baking is fun.
Getting out and getting craft supplies is fun.
Going to special events like craft shows and new shops is fun.
And most of all... my Shaun is fun!

Ooh, I DEFINITELY agree with you about how hard it is to find your "favorite top things"! Haha, and I wanna give you a high-five for your favorite youtube video! Did you know that Justin actually met her afterwards?? So crazy. :)
Yes. I know that little girl met Justin Bieber. That was sweet of him to do that. I just thought it was so funny she was crying over him like when you get your heart broken for the 1st time!
