2 - makeunder MY life
I am making under my May! Last Monday I worked on step one, create a vision.
First I really wanted to see what I accomplished so far in 2010 before I could make goals for the rest of the year. Thank goodness I've been keeping organized with my planners.

I was able to write down my monthly Dirty Laundry sales and accomplishments like being the N.E.E.T beauty blogger. I figured out that March was my most successful month with four stores placing wholesale orders for my cupcake bath fizzies. Three of them were new retailers!
But where is my time going? Well... I decided to record my time in a little journal. It only takes a second to write down everything I do. So at the end of the month I'll know how much time I spend on Google Reader, how much time I spend at my job actually working, how much time I spend crafting, with my husband, etc.
Sunday I was able to take some time and write down my goals for the rest of the year for Dirty Laundry and my personal life. Besides becoming a crafty superstar I'd like to keep my goals private for now. But I'd like to share The Prayer of Jabez that I'm saying every morning to help me achieve my bigger and better life. My aunt had given me the book several years ago when I had lost my job. I never finished reading it because I was afraid to ask God for my blessings and actually be willing to do the work of receiving them.

I'm not one to be preachy. But I believe that in all the work that we do to create and inspire is not just all of our own doing. We were born with gifts and we choose to share them.
Oprah talks a lot about living your best life and finding your purpose on this earth. (Read these six exercises on how to uncover your purpose). Discovering your purpose is what helps you to be:
• true to yourself
• to remember what is real
• to be creative
• to be resilient and to live your best life.
A purpose-led life is a blessed life.
I realize that my purpose on this Earth is sharing my talents.
I inspire my Zumba students. One of my students has lost 80 pounds and says I inspired him to become a Zumba instructor. And I inspire the craft community.
I couple of weeks ago I tweeted that I was tired. And I received this response:

I had NO IDEA people really cared that much about what I had to say about a cute octopus lamp or that I put more birthday cake cupcake bath fizzies in my shop. Thanks for the encouragement @valeriebooth!
In The Prayer of Jabez, first Jabez asks God to bless him. Second, he asks God to enlarge his territory or increase his responsibility (if you want your business or life to grow you must be willing to put in the work - that can be overwhelming because it'll keep increasing). Third, he prays that God will be with him. Lastly, Jabez asks that God keep him from harm.

Since I figured that my Dirty Laundry business is most successful with wholesale orders I was hoping for some orders very soon. I read The Prayer of Jabez book Saturday night and said the prayer Sunday morning. Sunday evening one of my new retailers emailed me for their second wholesale order. Amazing!

Now on to step two, exfoliate stuff, this week.
A few weeks ago I cleaned out my clothes closet. I still have bags of clothes that are sitting by the door to donate. Those bags are getting out of my apartment this week!
I also cut back on how many days I teach my Zumba fitness class and I've been using my new free time to run errands or simply make a homecooked meal.
I do need to reorganize my Dirty Laundry cupcake fizzie supplies and fabrics. But that task may take longer than a week to complete :O
I'm looking to exfoliate more activities than things. Maybe I'll find a way to streamline my creative or working process.
Let's see what I accomplish this week with step two. Makeunder step three is identify intentions.

This is so awesome! When you are done with all four steps, I'd love to post the whole makeunder in a post on MML, would you be interested? If so, email me at jess@jesslc.com and we can work something out :).
Yes Jess. I'd love to put my results of your four makeunder steps on your blog. As long as my results turn out positive!!! I still haven't exfoliated :O
