are pies the new cupcake?
My husband sent me this article this morning: Cupcakes Are Dead. Long Live The Pie!

Trend-spotters are calling pie the food of 2011. Texas and New York restaurants offer pie happy hours. Pies are showing up at weddings, and pie shops are coming to town.

I don't know if the beloved cupcake will ever go away. If you ask me, I much rather have a cupcake than a pie. I'm not really a pie gal. However, I have noticed pies popping up lately. Especially mini pies.

In my opinion any food that is done mini sized is cute and people are going want it.

The article also states that New York Magazine says vegetables are the new meat if pies are the new cupcakes.

Now that one I can believe! So many of my carnivore friends participate in meatless Mondays and they are always asking how we prepare our vegetarian meals.
Honestly I think Bakerella and her cake pops will take over the world!

I'm predicting desserts on a stick is the next trend.

• chocolate caramel marshmallows
• gingerbread house cookie pops
I mean honestly, who has time to a gingerbread house cookie pop or any of the extravagant cake pop shapes that Bakerella makes? I'm going to the nearest pop shop and place my party order.
See... cupcakes AND pies on a sick! We can all get along.

Ah-ha! Waffles on a stick
See... I told you that food on a stick was the next BIG food trend!
Check out the "wafflesicle!"

The Lolly Waffle Maker cooks the waffle AROUND the stick. No need to grab the waffles with one hand while thrusting a stick into it with the other. You're saved from having to use your dirty hands to get that delicious pancake skewered on a rod by placing the stick in the waffle maker along with the batter.
The Lolly Waffle Maker can produce four waffles on a stick every two minutes. Each waffle measures 9.5 inches without the stick.
