39 - THE DIRTY, 2011 trends

I can't believe 2012 is right around the corner! Here is THE DIRTY on five of my favorite trends of 2011.

BRACELETS
The new friendship bracelet that is chunky, braided and layered with other bracelets is one of my most re-pinned Pinterest items. My blog post on making bracelets for friendship day sparked my personal interest in making my own bracelets.

1. silk curb bracelet

2. rose gold wrap bracelet on cypress cotton cord

3. braided bracelet

4. corded neon bracelet

5. braided hex nut bracelet

CHALKBOARD
Chalkboard paint is making it's way onto EVERYTHING! I made my own chalkboard tags at the beginning of the year. And I did a roundup in March and August and I'm still finding new and unique ways people are using chalkboard paint.

 1. chalkboard calendar

2. chalkboard wine glasses tutorial

3. ornament

4. DIY chalkboard mug

GLITTER and GOLD
I must say, 2011 had been a golden sparkly year. Loving gold on everything from fashion to DIY projects and decor to food. Adding some glitter makes it so much more fun!

1. glitter teaspoons

2. gold fringe wrapped numbers

3. number candles

4. tassel garland

NAILS
Girls are getting so creative with their nail designs! I tried to get on the bandwagon, but I'm always doing something with my hands messing up my manicure. But I need to invest into Sally Hansen nail strips or some of Mod Cloth's nail stickers to quickly do my nails for 2012.

1. city lights nail stickers

2. glitter nails

3. sugar coated nails

4. black and white

SALTED CARAMEL
People truly need to stop putting salted caramel on EVERYTHING! There is even an salted caramel martini. I just want to eat it ALL! I even made my own salted caramels this year and they were easy to make and soooooo delicious.

1. Fleur de Sel Caramels

2. Sweeteeth salted caramel sauce

3. salted caramel cupcakes

4. salted caramel tart

I can't wait to see what 2012 brings.
TO A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I especially love the friendship bracelet trend. I'm a color-lover and this trend is right up my alley!!! I'm going to try to make the braided hex nut bracelet.
