The Dirty Laundry blog is my place to put my daily delights and inspiration. Not only do I want to share my cupcake bath fizzie creations -- I like to share my findings. Researching trends is my passion and I scour the Internet to find the best inspiration for all of your crafty, gift-giving, fashion, lifestyle and plain old "I just gotta have it" needs. I hope you enjoy your visit!

only 6 more days!

I made myself a headband to wear while I'm seling dirty laundry goodies at the ric rac roundup craft fair on Saturday 7/25.

I really don't like ric rac, but I thought it would be cute to wear something to represent the name of the craft show.

I also got four batches of cupcake bath fizzies iced and ready to be packaged.

• NEW, sweet apricot
• lavender vanilla
• lemongrass
• NEW, tropical sunshine

I also got a few reconstructed tees done.

I'm super pleased with how they came out and excited to see how they'll do. I'll be working on more in these last few days!

I also have 20 packs of fabric scraps for DIY projects to go along with the vintage belt buckels.

I cleaned out my bins and put together color coordinating packs of fabric like I would for my crafty aprons. Each pack is a 1/2 yard of fabric, enough for a small project.

I still have lots to do this week to get ready for Saturday. Lots of packaging, tee shirt and apron making!!!

Hope to see you Saturday ^.^

the color gray

I LOVE the color gray (is it gray or grey?)!

I was getting a load of my dirty laundry together today and I realized I have LOTS of gray tops. So I thought I'd see how many days in a row I can wear gray. I know I can do at least 5-7.

See you Monday with my 1st gray outfit!

#7 nice assignment

This week's Operation Nice assignment is: Make Wednesday a NICE day!

For Operation Nice one year anniversary her plan was to hand out flowers to strangers with little Operation NICE tags on them. How cool is that!

Well, I honestly didn't have time to do that today. But I would like to thank people being extra nice to me! I've been running into people at work telling me how cool is was to see my article in the paper. I've even gotten a few emails from strangers saying I inspired them. How NICE is that?!?

Next week I'll be participating in a nice project at Hallmark. Stay tuned, because you'll be able to participate too!!!

week in review

t-shirts
Today I FINALLY! I made a reconstructed t-shirt that I've been wanting to make since 2007.

Somehow I got into making aprons, then bath fizzies, and then I never got around to doing what I originally learned how to sew for -- reconstructed t-shirts!

Shaun was throwing out a TON of t-shirts he didn't want anymore. One of the reasons I hadn't started on any tees was because I couldn't decide on patterned tees or plain. And then where would I get cool pattern tees? Well... from my husband's closet!!!

I'm making three styles for the ric rac roundup craft fair. But this one came out too cute! I just may keep it for myself!

more goodies for ric rac roundup
Speaking of the ric rac roundup... I've got new bath fizzies in the works.

BATH TARTS!!!

I have these relaxing "spa" scents and I thought to package two tarts together for personal use while the cupcake bath fizzies are more for gift giving.

So far I have energy, relaxing and green tea cucumber.

I've also decided to part with my cool vintage belt buckles since I'm not going to be making belts anymore.

I figure some crafty girls will be shopping at ric rac roundup and they could use some craft supplies. So I packaged the up all cute for $1, $2 and $3.

I still have TONS to do to get ready for ric rac roundup!

The Uniform Project

Sheena and Eliza wrote me back about wearing one of my aprons from The Uniform Project!

Dear Jeanee,
Your aprons are so freaking ADORABLE! We're both sitting here ohhing and awing over the cuteness. We really wish there were some way we could use them, but still don't think they're quite right for Sheena's daily photo styling.

Best,
Sheena & Eliza

Awh man! Well I'm happy that they liked the aprons and emailed me back so quickly!

she FINALLY got her gift!
My friend finally got her gift. Her birthday was May 7th. Better late than never huh?

She photographed herself wearing the tee and journal I made.

vacation
Our vacation was good even with Grandma's funeral. It was good to see family and seeing our beloved Lake Michigan!

Chicago was great! We enjoyed walking down Michigan, Ave., The Taste of Chicago, Garrett’s popcorn and our new fav restaurant Soul Vegetarian.

Be sure to check out my Flickr. I've posted a few photos throughout the week.

#6 nice assignment

Monday's, July 6th, Operation Nice assignment is: Your NICE Role Model.

We'll that's easy for me to choose since I just did a tribute on my blog to Grandma.

I also did a tribute to her at her funeral this past Friday. As her 2nd oldest grandchild and only granddaughter for 24 years (until 1998) I felt it was appropriate for me to speak about her. I guess I did a good job since I made everyone cry. The service was lovely. I didn't cry much, because I was a peace with her being gone now. It was good to see family and talk about how classy Grandma was.

She's my role model because she taught me how to be a lady and show that I care about the people I love.
